Zojirushi is one of the leading brands in bread makers market, and the chances are you’ve already seen their bread maker models.
And if any of these two models have caught your eye, you have great taste when it comes to quality kitchen appliances.
However, the dilemma between these two products is one of the toughest ones when it comes to the whole Zojirushi brand. That’s why we think it deserves a post for itself so we can help everyone make up their decision based on facts and our professional opinion after testing these products.

Even though BB CEC20 model is the cheaper model between the two, it’s a really good competitor and even a real threat to the other model which is slightly a bit more expensive.
Great Capacity
If you’re looking for capacity, you’ll be glad to know that both Zojirushi models feature a rectangular shaped loaf up to 2 pounds.
Also, both bread makers feature dual kneading technology that makes the kneading process a lot more efficient and it even speeds it up a bit.
While this is great news, it, unfortunately, doesn’t help a lot with a decision – but you shouldn’t give up just yet.
Pre-Programmed Settings
Zojirushi BB CEC20 comes with 10 pre-programmed presets that offer a variety of settings to choose from. This will help you get your perfect bread every time but also keep the consistency levels.
Combined with 3 crust shading level control and a 13-hour delay timer, you’ll have plenty of adjustment abilities to combine in order to bake your favorite bread at any time.
On the other hand, the other model has a menu with about 19 settings to achieve custom preference.
LCD Control Panel
The decently sized LCD panel is perfectly positioned to provide a lot of info regarding the settings. Even though there are 6 buttons that will help you navigate through the settings – the LCD control panel is very easy to read and yet it is the most important components of the included controls.
Very similar LCD control panel is featured on the other model which just makes the decision a lot harder.
Large Viewing Window
Zojirushi BB CEC20 features a large viewing window for all of us who love to keep an eye of our bread while it’s baking.
What we really like about the viewing windows is the angle it’s positioned at which just improved the way we look at the loaf – but also gives a better view.
The other model also has a viewing window which is a bit smaller, and there is no angled position which makes the viewing angle a bit harder.
Additional Accessories
We love the amount of accessories Zojirushi includes with BB CEC20 model. You will have everything necessary to get started straight away.
We were able to start baking our first loaf within 20 minutes of receiving the bread maker.
Accessories include measuring spoon and cup, user manual, recipes booklet, and even instructions DVD. This is just another advantage over the BB PAC20 model, which doesn’t include as many accessories.
Variety of Recipes
The variety of recipes that come included in a recipes booklet just show the capability of Zojirushi BB CEC20 bread machine.
Even though this bread maker features 10 pre-programmed settings, it can produce a lot more than 10 different bread types.
BB PAC20 model also features a recipe book, but it’s not as compulsory as BB CEC20’s recipe book.
Easy to Use
Even though there are a lot of options and features on this exact bread baker model, it’s very easy to use. Even someone who has no bread making experience will be able to get it right from the first try.
All you need to do is decide which recipe will you use, prepare the ingredients, set the right preset, choose your desired crust color, and let it work its magic!

What’s so different between these two models and which bread maker is actually better? It’s a tough choice but it’s clear that Zojirushi BB PAC20 has some slight improvements, but also some disadvantages.
Let’s have a look at its top features before making a decision.
Custom Menu Settings
The main advantage of BB PAC20 is the custom menu which allows users a bit more freedom when it comes to the choice of bread type and its baking settings.
There are about 20 settings which increase the versatility and number of recipes that can be used. This also includes gluten-free and organic baking ingredients.
Quick Baking Cycle
What the previous model doesn’t have yet BB PAC20 does is the quick baking cycle which prepares bread in just about 2 hours.
If you’re in a hurry, this is the fastest way to get a fresh bread loaf on the table.
Additional Heater
Another thing we have noticed when we compared these two models is that BB PAC20 is a lot warmer inside.
This is due to the additional heater which is placed at the top lid that ensures evenly baking. Also, we noticed how loaves end up a bit higher due to this additional heater which is a big bonus.
However, this function sacrifices the bigger and angled viewing lid.
Dual Kneading Blades
Just like the BB CEC20 model, BB PAC20 features dual kneading blades that knead the dough thoroughly.
In this aspect, both models are equally good, but we believe the additional heat provided by an additional heater in the PAC20 model.
Control Panel with LCD
We believe controls along the LCD panel are really improved in BB PAC20 which increases the ease of use. But it also introduces better visibility in dark.
The buttons are placed in two columns with the start and cancel button which is colored green and red for easier use.
Conclusion
While Zojirushi BB CEC20 is a really solid bread maker that is a bit cheaper, we believe that Zojirushi BB PAC20 introduces better features which make a difference throughout the baking process.
But on the other hand, BB PAC20 is a bit higher priced which might not be ideal for customers on a tight budget. Therefore, we definitely think Zojirushi BB PAC20 is a winner, but if you’re on a tighter budget – we highly recommend going with BB CEC20.
It will depend on your needs which bread maker is a better choice for you. You can’t go wrong with either one!
