You’re probably reading this now because you would love to make your own bread and are looking for a top-rated bread machine

If you’re seriously considering the Oster CKSTBR9050 Expressbake, then you’ll be in for a pleasant surprise.

This Oster Bread Maker is a high quality, highly durable, affordable bread machine.

Of course, all kitchen appliances have pros and cons, we’ll get to that later.

For now, let’s look at everything that the Expressbake has to offer.

CKSTBR9050 Oster Expressbake Features

This is a mid-range bread maker that offers many higher-end functionalities and comes at a good price.

Not only does it come with some of the basic functions like loaf size, a gluten-free setting, crust settings, and numerous baking settings, but it’s unique in its Expressbake function, which means it’s fast!

Loaf Size

The Oster Expressbake has 3 loaf size options for you, 1 pound, 1.5 pounds, and 2 pounds.

1 pound is perfect for a person or a couple who needs bread for a few days.

The 3 pound setting is perfect for a family or if you’re having some friends over for brunch.

And the 1.5 pound setting being in the middle, could go either way. It could be useful for either of those scenarios.

Crust Settings

It’s common to have various crust settings on bread machines, but believe it or not, not all bread machines have 3 crust settings. Some only have 2!

Still, the Expressbake has the options of making your crust light, medium, or dark.

If you buy bread at the grocery store then you don’t even think of this option, because you get no option.

However, once you begin baking your own bread at home, you’ll find that you have a preference. And you’ll also find that you like having the option to choose.

Everyone has their own bread crust preferences.

Bake Settings

The Oster CKSTBR9050S offers a whopping 13 preprogrammed bake settings.

This is really alot and it pretty much covers everything you can think of.

13 pre-programmed settings for the Oster CKSTBR9050 ExpressBake

  1. French Bread
  2. Whole Wheat Bread
  3. Sweet Bread
  4. Basic White Bread
  5. Quick
  6. ExpressBake 1 pound
  7. ExpressBake 1.5 pounds
  8. Dough
  9. Pizza dough
  10. Bake
  11. Gluten-Free
  12. Jam
  13. Cake

The ExpressBake option is what’s unique to this breadmaker.

This is the option that will bake your bread in under an hour!

Now, this option is only available for loaf sizes of 1 pound and 1.5 pounds.

Still, that’s fast! 1 hour from ingredients to ready to eat can’t be beat.

Also, did you see cake and jam? Pretty cool that you can go outside of the typical “breads” to make cake or jam in your bread maker!

Automatic Delay Timer

Bread makers have been doing something that we wish other appliances would do, they start by themselves!

This Oster ExpressBake has a 13 hour delay start timer.

That means that you can set everything up with all the ingredients and set the start timer for anywhere between right then to up to 13 hours later!

If you want bread in the morning, you can time it and make it happen.

If you want freshly baked bread after work, you can still set it up the night before, make it for 13 hours, and then come home to freshly baked bread.

Included Accessories

This Oster bread maker is not only a quality kitchen appliance, it not only comes with many different features and settings, but it also comes with the accessories you need.

  • Measuring cup
  • Spoon
  • Nonstick baking pan
  • 2 kneading blades
  • Kneading blade removal hook
  • Recipe book

A couple things to note here.

The measuring cup and spoon are pretty common in bread machines. So is a nonstick baking pan. In this case, the nonstick baking pan is aluminum. It’s a good thing that it’s NOT Teflon.

In regards to the kneading blades – a kneading blade is what actually mixes all of the ingredients together inside of the bread machine.

In this case the Oster ExpressBake comes with two kneading blades. That’s unique but it’s also useful.

If one is dirty, then you can bake again right away using the second one. Or if the first one breaks, it’s not that big of a deal if you have another one.

The removal hook is interesting.

You see, bread machines have the kneading blade that’s in them. And when they begin to bake, they either bake the bread around the kneading blade or the kneading blade collapses by itself.

In this case, the Oster CKSTBR9050 actually gives you a special hook that you can use to removal the blade yourself.

That’s a great solution.

And if you don’t really want to go around digging in your bread maker you can just let it bake and then carefully remove the kneading blade from the bread after.

Oster CKSTBR9050 Expressbake Cons

  • Doesn’t feel sturdy or durable
  • Feels like it’s made with cheap materials
  • No auto fruit and nut dispenser – useful feature

No kitchen appliance is perfect. They all have their pros and cons. And the Oster ExpressBake is no different!

Although users talked about how it didn’t feel durable or felt cheap, that was just talking about how it felt and had nothing to do with performance.

However, I’ll be honest, it’s not a great looking kitchen appliance.

There are many aesthetically pleasing kitchen appliances, even bread machines that you wouldn’t mind leaving out because it may enhance how your kitchen looks. This isn’t one of them.

Regarding the fruit and nut dispenser.

This is a significant drawback because having an automatic fruit and nut dispenser is such a useful feature.

Basically, a bread machine that has this feature will automatically add in the fruits and nuts at the perfect time. It doesn’t matter how long of a delay timer you choose or what setting it’s on.

Not having this features means that you have to do it if you’re baking bread that has dried fruit or nuts in it.

You may not think you will, but many Holiday Breads have that. And you may want to give it a shot one day!

One good thing though, although this bread machine may not add it in for you, it does give a beep to let you know the best time to add it in yourself.
